Approval Addiction

Approval addiction is just as deadly as any other form of addiction. It can ruin a life more easily than drugs or alcoholism. Drug and alcohol addiction is more obvious, but often people are addicted to approval without even stopping to notice it in themselves. Drug and alcohol addiction will alter behavior, but addiction to the approval of others can cause a person to completely reorient their identity and values, based not on Scripture, logic or sound reason, but solely on the false hope of being liked, which is one of the cheapest pleasures. It is worse than prostitution of the body— it’s prostitution of the soul.
